thinking about ideas


Never made a game before, but I want to try :))

Gonna try to keep it simple and build a strong foundation first before adding more things in. Don't want to be pulling a yandereDev would we lmao

Base game:

  • Basic rpg combat
  • Saves
  • Large overworld map separated into local maps
    • Sectors 1 and 2
  • Locations:
    • Training room
    • Cafe
    • Rooftop
    • (3) Streets
    • Park
  • Maroon and Umbra as NPCs
    • Friend-able
    • Romanceable
    • Play as a matchmaker between the two
  • A somewhat linear storyline with 3 different endings
  • Day/Night cycle

Stuff I want to work towards in the future:

  • Player-customizable character
    • Costumed and civilian form
    • A way to input player pronouns
    • Multiple superpower choices
    • Start out differently (ex. Hero Aid Healer, )
  • The Director as an NPC and maybe a romanceable option?
  • Maroon and Umbra are antagonizable
  • Multiple endings and a branching storyline
  • More locations
    • Research Center
    • Maroon's apartment
    • The Director's office
    • Hospital
    • Library
    • Metro (acts as a central hub/overworld map  for Player to travel to different locations)
  • Animated face icons
  • Busts?
  • Animated cutscenes
  • Aesthetic UI
  • Calander/Date Cycle
  • In-Game Time

Basic story premise

The Player character is a D-rank hero/intern working as a sidekick with Maroon to take down Umbra. Not sure what I should do for the superpower, but I'm thinking something simple for now, like super strength.


EDIT (8/1):

Researched and messed around on RPGmaker for 4 hours. I have the bare bones foundation for an introduction, a player-name-input system, and a friend-point system.
